In the week ending 2 June 2026, one cVDPV2 case was reported from Malawi, with onset of paralysis on 22 December 2025.

Cholera
Reported 18 February 2026Spread through contaminated food and water
Between 1 January and 16 February 2026, a total of 828 suspected cholera cases, with 87 confirmed cases and two deaths, have been reported. Currently Blantyre is reporting the highest number of cases, followed by Lilongwe, Kasungu, Neno and Chikwawa.

Mpox
Reported 01 October 2025Spread by close or bodily-fluid contact
As of 26 September 2025, a total of 113 mpox clade Ib cases and one death have been confirmed in Malawi in 2025.
