Dengue

As of 28 June 2026, 34,820 cases (36 deaths) of dengue have been reported in Peru since the start of the year. A total of 39,211 cases (56 deaths) were reported during the whole of 2025. Serotypes DENV-1, DENV-2 and DENV-3 have been recorded.

Spread by daytime-biting mosquitoes. Use a DEET repellent, cover up, and stay somewhere with screens or air-conditioning.
Yellow fever

As of 13 March 2026, two yellow fever cases have been reported in the department of Madre de Dios. Seven further cases are under investigation from various departments. 49 cases of yellow fever (19 deaths) were reported in Peru during 2025.

Chikungunya

Between 1 January and 9 August 2025 a total of 84 cases were reported, of which 16 were laboratory confirmed and 68 classified as probable. Confirmed cases have been reported in the departments of San Martin (14 cases) and Loreto (2 cases). No deaths have been reported.
