Overview

What vaccinations do I need for Cameroon?

Cameroon is a higher-preparation destination. A Yellow Fever certificate is required of travellers and is listed among the documents for the e-Visa, so it's needed at the application stage as well as on arrival. Malaria risk is high across the whole country, all year, so antimalarial tablets are advised for nearly every trip.

The guidance below is based on UK travel health advice (TravelHealthPro and NHS Fit for Travel). We'll confirm exactly what you need — and issue your Yellow Fever certificate — at a short consultation at our Timperley clinic near Manchester.

Plan ahead

Sort Yellow Fever before you apply for the visa

The Yellow Fever certificate is needed for your Cameroon visa and only becomes valid 10 days after the jab, so get vaccinated early. Malaria tablets may need starting before you go too. Aim for 4–6 weeks ahead — sooner is fine, come in anyway.
