Travel vaccines for Ghana
Ghana asks every visitor for proof of Yellow Fever vaccination — you upload it with your e-Visa and show it on arrival. Here's what UK travellers are advised, including the certificate we issue and malaria tablets.

Overview
What vaccinations do I need for Ghana?
Ghana is one of the countries that requires a Yellow Fever certificate from all travellers — and uniquely, you have to upload proof of vaccination when you apply for the e-Visa, so it needs sorting before you even submit the application. Malaria risk is high throughout the country, all year, so antimalarial tablets are advised too.
The list below is a general guide based on UK travel health advice (TravelHealthPro and NHS Fit for Travel). We'll confirm exactly what you need — and issue your Yellow Fever certificate — at a short consultation at our Timperley clinic near Manchester.
Plan ahead
Get your certificate before you apply for the visa
Because Ghana's e-Visa needs your Yellow Fever certificate uploaded, get vaccinated early — the certificate only becomes valid 10 days after the jab. Malaria tablets may also need starting before you go. Aim for 4–6 weeks ahead, but come in anyway if you're travelling sooner.
