As of 18 February 2026, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative reported two cVDPV2-positive environmental samples from Omaheke and Khomas, collected on 7 January 2026.

Cholera

Spread through contaminated food and water

As of 3 December 2025, a total of 24 cholera cases (13 confirmed) and one death have been reported for 2025 in Kunene and Otjozondjupa regions. Prior to 2025, the last reported cholera outbreak was in 2014.
